Clerk​/Treasurer

The Village of Lake Orion is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Village Clerk/Treasurer. The position is under the general supervision of the Village Manager and is responsible for the administration of the Village's Clerk and Finance/Treasury functions.

Responsibilities include serving as Clerk of the Village Council and secretary to boards and commissions; preparing agendas, packets and meeting minutes; maintaining official records and ordinances; publishing legal notices; coordinating FOIA requests; administering licenses and permits; overseeing the Village's financial operations, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable, investments, debt management, grants, financial reporting, budgeting and annual audit coordination; and other administrative duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with elected officials, employees, residents, governmental agencies and the public.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, public administration, or related field, or CPA, with at least three years of municipal finance, budgeting, accounting and supervisory experience. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement at the discretion of the Village Manager. Knowledge of governmental fund accounting and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required. A valid Michigan driver's license is also required.

The salary range for this position is $71,448-$89,852 depending on qualifications and experience. Lake Orion offers a very competitive benefit package.
