Position: Aerospace 5‑Axis VMC Machining Specialist
Shape Flight-Ready Parts in Shelby Township, MIPicture your day beginning at a spotless workstation, fixtures prepped, tools organized, and a complex aerospace part queued up on a 5‑axis mill. You review the print, confirm GD&T callouts, run through your setup checklist, and take pride as the first-off part measures dead-on. That’s a day in the life on our aerospace manufacturing team.

What you’ll doSet up and run 5‑axis CNC mills to machine complex aerospace components to spec.

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.

Apply GD&T to verify features, relationships, and tolerances throughout the process.

Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.

Use shop math (geometry/trigonometry) for precise calculations and verification.

Inspect in-process and finished parts with precision metrology to confirm conformance.

Partner with engineering and production to troubleshoot, improve, and document best practices.

Keep your cell organized and safe, following established safety protocols.

What you bring

Hands-on experience as a CNC Machinist working with 5‑axis VMCs.Strong command of GD&T and its practical application on the floor.

Proficiency in CNC tooling selection, setup, and verification for aerospace work.

Comfort with shop math, including geometry and trigonometry.

Fluent in blueprint/technical drawing interpretation.

Background on 3–4 axis VMCs is a plus.

Detail orientation, quality mindset, and collaborative problem-solving approach.
