Job Description & How to Apply Below
You’ll be the go-to expert who installs, wires, and commissions electrical systems and components for machine tools that power automated production lines. From first blueprint read to final sign-off, you ensure every control panel and circuit performs flawlessly.
A day in the life
Your morning might begin by reviewing technical drawings and electrical schematics with engineering. By mid‑day, you’re assembling and wiring a control panel to exact product specifications, using both hand and power tools. In the afternoon, you could be diagnosing a stubborn fault on an automation cell—leveraging advanced diagnostic tools and proven techniques—then documenting the fix and confirming optimal system performance. Throughout, you collaborate with cross‑functional teammates and keep your knowledge of machine tool practices sharp and current.
What you’ll handle
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams to understand build requirements and specifications.
Assemble and install control panels and related electrical components using appropriate hand and power tools, precisely to spec.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues on machine tools and automation systems using advanced diagnostic equipment and methods.
Partner with engineering and peers to integrate machine tools per electrical schematics and technical specifications.
Perform preventive maintenance to sustain reliability and peak performance.
Stay current with machine tool field concepts, practices, and procedures.
What you bring
At least 5 years of experience as a Machine Tool Electrician or in a closely related role.
Expertise in accurately reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documentation.
Your own professional tool set.
Ability to work independently and thrive as a collaborative team member.
A valid driver’s license.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally about 20% of the time.
Capacity to frequently move, lift, transport, position, and install equipment and materials weighing more than 20 lbs.
