Part-Time Applied Music Tutor

Applied music tutors are professional educators responsible for providing high-quality instruction to Applied Music students. Applied music tutors report to the Music Instructor and perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the college's mission, policies, and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach applied lessons on or off campus (virtually) as needed.
  • Teach appropriate course content.
  • Follow course syllabi.
  • Check and answer emails at least once a week.
  • Maintain record of student attendance and participation for the instructor of record.
  • Submit progress reports for every student the tutor meets with to the instructor of record.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with the college and the instructor of record.
  • Adhere to CCC policies and procedures.
  • Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $35.00 per hour

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Music or a closely related field OR commensurate performance ability and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in music or a closely related field. College/University-level teaching experience. Evidence of significant performance experience.

Physical Demands: ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information, analyze data, make assessments, and exercise good judgment to make decisions; possess ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus; and effective use of all forms of communication (oral, visual, auditory), including use of computers. Be able to lift weights up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
