SAPA Transmission is a leading manufacturer of advanced transmission systems for U.S. Army tracked armored vehicles. We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our growing team and play a key role in sourcing the materials and components necessary to support critical defense programs.
In this role, you will work closely with Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure materials are procured on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. If you enjoy building supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do- Manage the procurement of materials and components required for production and program needs
- Serve as the primary point of contact between SAPA Transmission and suppliers
- Prepare and manage Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Create and maintain purchase orders within the ERP system
- Analyze supplier quotations, perform cost and price analysis, and support negotiations
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships focused on quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Administer contracts and monitor supplier compliance with program requirements
- Review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) data to support purchasing decisions and inventory needs
- Analyze ERP system demand and material requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure program success
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 1-3 years of procurement, purchasing, or buyer experience
- Manufacturing or defense industry experience preferred
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and solution-focused approach
