Paint Production Lead-Nights

Position Summary:

Will assist in training new employees within the department. Responsible for leading and mentoring team leads. Responsible to coordinate the day-to-day production needs and scheduling. Will communicate any employee or production issues to the department supervisor in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing and assigning daily duties according to production schedules to all department staff.
  • Will monitor inventory levels and immediately notify department supervisor of any shortages that could slow production.
  • Trains, audits, and holds team accountable to standard work and training guides, responds quickly to quality problems, and complies with acceptance criteria.
  • Promotes safety, quality, continuous improvement, and LEAN practices.
  • Ensures equipment is always in safe operating condition and performs preventative maintenance as scheduled.
  • Acts as Production Supervisor in their absence.
  • May assist in hiring process.
  • Continually mentors and leads fellow employees.
  • Responsible for performing and ensuring quality inspections are being done in accordance to the Steffes Quality Management System.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
  • Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

    Job Requirements /

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 1+ years of prior work experience in related field
    • Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
    • Familiarity with HVLP and/or electrostatic guns, pressure pots, and proportioners is a plus.
    • Written and verbal communication, math, reading, and spelling skills

    -OR-

    • An acceptable combination of education and experience
