Description:

We are seeking a Med Surg/Tele RN to provide high-quality patient care. This unit includes a total of 32 beds with an average census of 28. Patient types include total joint replacements, colon resection, gallbladder surgeries, appendectomies, amputations, medical overflow, hip fractures, SBO, and NG tubes. The RN patient ratio during the day shift is 1:4-6 and may vary during surge staffing, possibly reaching up to 1:7-8.

LPN ratios are similar to those of RNs. Patient care is supported by CNAs performing vital signs, baths, mobility, turning, and blood sugar checks. There is a charge nurse available to assist with nursing care. Phlebotomy services are provided, and there is 24/7 availability of respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists. Telemetry monitoring is also available on site. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC.

Staff will be required to float within the region and scope of practice as needed. Travelers may be called back in case of low census. Holiday expectations require travelers to work 75% of holidays. This role includes a weekend rotation and the possibility of recalls during low census. Scrub color is navy. The position offers free parking.
