The Maintenance Technician installs, operates, and maintains plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment. The position requires knowledge of and compliance with all state and local codes. Other maintenance functions assigned are performed as well.
Maintenance Technician- Make repairs and replacements to HVAC, electrical or plumbing systems as assigned.
- Perform a variety of repairs, within their specified trade, on any/all equipment required to ensure that safety and the teaching and learning environment are not affected.
- Secure parts and supplies as needed.
- Obtain quotes from vendors as necessary for services, within their specified trade, as directed by the Director of Facilities.
- Read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals to implement work.
- Serve as the primary contact for all work orders related to the specified trade.
- Assist with setting up facilities for internal and external events.
- Assist with snow and/or ice removal when conditions arise.
- Respond to emergencies outside of regular work hours when assigned by the Director.
- Assist with all other work orders as assigned.
- Participate in professional and staff development opportunities.
- Serve on committees as required.

Based on experience. Starting salary range $34,320 to $51,480.
Required Qualifications- High School diploma and 5 years’ experience in a related field.
- Ability to work effectively and collegially with others.
- Skill in the use of computers and commitment to use of technology.
- Experience with current version of MS Office or similar programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Provide exceptional customer service with people internal and external to the institution.
- Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college.

- Maintain general knowledge of other campus departments and processes and refer students to appropriate departments as needed.

Physical DemandsADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information, analyze data, make assessments, and exercise good judgment to make decisions; possess ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus; and effective use of all forms of communication (oral, visual, auditory), including use of computers. Be able to lift weights up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
