Responsibilities
- Supervise program participants;
Implement tennis activities and provide instruction to participants on specific activities; - Maintain equipment and facility in a clean and orderly manner;
- Assures the safety of patrons of all ages. Instructs patrons as relates to tennis center rules, regulations, and procedures;
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, staff regarding rules, questions and concerns;
- Prepares written and oral reports and performs related tasks as required;
- Comes in early If needed to help make sure water is out on tennis courts daily along with the tent if needed;
- Responsible to maintain key to equipment room to get tennis rackets and tennis balls;
Conducts first aid procedures as necessary; - Follows City of Shelby safety, personnel, and administrative policies and procedures.
Tennis experience and thorough knowledge on teaching different drills/activities for tennis lesson. CPR, AED and First Aid Certified.
Complete understanding and ability to follow written departmental policies;
Knowledge of the practices, methods, and policies used in summer tennis lesson operations;
Knowledge of state and local regulations relating to tennis;
Ability to direct and supervise patrons of all ages;
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors(s);
Ability to establish and maintain working relationship with city officials, supervisor(s), co-workers, tennis center patrons and guests, groups, agencies, and the general public.
