Position Summary

R.S. Hanline is seeking an HVAC Assistant to work at our Shelby, Ohio, location. This individual will be working alongside our dedicated HVAC Technician assisting with HVAC repair and training to become an HVAC Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with HVAC repair
  • Operate and assist with operating a variety of hand tools and power tools
  • Complete preventative maintenance of industrial coolers
  • Follow instructions for picking up and bringing pieces, parts, and tools to desired location
  • Learn and apply troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve system issues.
  • Assist in washing and cleaning evaporators and condensers to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Clean, maintain, and repair drain pans and associated plumbing components.
  • Operate and assist in monitoring gauges, vacuum pumps, themostats, and compressors.
  • Replace and install fans, guards, and related mechanical parts as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with building maintenance and operations teams to support overall facility performance.
Qualifications
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Any applicable state licensing or certifications (e.g., Universal EPA Certification) – preferred but not required.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge or hands‑on plumbing experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning and improvement
