Paraprofessional Behavior Support Instructional Assistant

Part-Time 28 Hours

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist students with self-regulation and prioritize self-regulation within the classroom setting. Meet with students individually and in small groups to teach self-regulation, executive functioning, and social skills. Utilize a variety of resources to engage students. Promote, support, and model the SCS Tier 1 Social-Emotional Learning initiative. Assist the MTSS team with behavior referrals through observation, data collection, and behavior plan development for Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports.

Support the building-level crisis response team as a team member. Support teachers with strategies to improve student behavior and reduce time spent outside the classroom. Collaborate and communicate with administration and staff. Collaborate with the building social worker and other mental health support personnel in the school. Maintain satisfactory attendance. Demonstrate responsibility, a strong work ethic, flexibility, and initiative. Model the Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives.
