About the Role:
The Manager, Supply Chain Operations leads short-term operational execution and day-to-day production scheduling across the network. The role oversees the production planning team and aligns Planning, Procurement, Transportation, Customer Service, and Plant Operations around near-term service, supply, capacity, inventory, and material priorities. The position drives execution visibility, cross-functional coordination, and timely escalation while serving as the operational bridge between tactical supply planning and day-to-day network execution.Success in this role requires regular presence in office and operational environments to support cross-functional collaboration, maintain close visibility into operational realities, and enable timely decision-making.
Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Functional Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the production planning team.
- Set priorities, define expectations, and promote accountability within the function.
- Provide functional leadership for short-term production planning and execution coordination across the network.
- Represent Supply Chain Operations in cross-functional forums and influence outcomes beyond direct reporting lines.
Short-Term Execution Coordination
- Lead near-term supply chain execution across the network, ensuring alignment across Planning, Procurement, Distribution, Customer Service, and Plant Operations.
- Translate tactical supply plans into executable short-term priorities and actions.
- Coordinate cross-functional responses to service risks, supply constraints, material shortages, capacity limitations, transportation issues, and production disruptions.
- Facilitate timely decisions, clarify action owners and timelines, and escalate unresolved or high-impact issues through established channels.
- Use the S&OE process and related operating routines as key forums to align priorities, manage risks, and drive execution follow-through.
Production Scheduling, Deployment, and Inventory Management
- Oversee production scheduling activities to support customer service, material availability, inventory objectives, and plant efficiency.
- Coordinate production-priority changes based on demand shifts, operational constraints, and network conditions.
- Support adherence to deployment logic and default plant assignments, while ensuring justified deviations are visible, controlled, and addressed.
- Coordinate inventory positioning and replenishment priorities by SKU, location, product family, and customer priority in line with portfolio strategy, service requirements, and supply constraints.
- Balance customer service, working capital, inventory health, and operational efficiency in near-term decision-making.
Performance Management and Root Cause Analysis
- Maintain visibility on key execution KPIs, including OTIF, backlog, lead time, schedule adherence, material availability, inventory risk, premium freight, and default plant deviations.
