Responsibilities
  • Monitoring Gate Access – Control vehicle and personnel access:
    Ensure that only authorized vehicles and individuals enter or exit the facility. Check identification:
    Verify the credentials of drivers, visitors, and employees before granting access to the premises. Issue passes:
    Provide entry and exit passes to authorized personnel, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.

  • Vehicle Inspections – Inspect trucks and cargo:
    Check trucks for compliance with security and safety requirements, such as verifying that cargo is properly secured and there are no unauthorized items. Conduct safety checks:
    Perform checks for hazardous materials, fire safety equipment, and load stability. Search vehicles if necessary:
    Conduct physical or visual inspections of vehicles and cargo to prevent contraband or unauthorized materials from entering or leaving.

  • Surveillance and Patrol – Monitor security cameras:
    Observe real-time video feeds to identify any suspicious activity at the truck gate and throughout the surrounding areas. Patrol the perimeter:
    Regularly walk or drive around the facility's truck gate area to check for potential security breaches or unsafe conditions. Ensure perimeter security:
    Verify that gates, fences, and barriers are secure, reporting any damage or unauthorized access.

  • Reporting and Documentation – Record activities:
    Document all truck gate activity, including the time of arrival and departure, truck details, and the identity of personnel entering and exiting the facility. Report incidents:
    Immediately report any unusual or suspicious activity, accidents, or security breaches to the security manager or supervisor. Maintain incident logs:
    Keep accurate records of any security-related incidents or safety concerns, including actions taken.

  • Emergency Response – Respond to alarms:
    Act quickly to investigate or address any triggered alarms (e.g., unauthorized access or equipment malfunctions). Assist in emergency situations:
    Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as accidents, medical incidents, or fires, and alert emergency services when needed. Evacuate personnel if necessary:
    Follow company protocols to manage safe evacuations in the event of a security threat or emergency.

  • Enforcing Security Policies – Follow protocols:
    Ensure adherence to company and facility security policies, procedures, and regulations. Address violations:
    Take action against individuals who violate security procedures, including directing them to the proper authorities or denying access if necessary. Provide security briefings:
    Inform truck drivers and visitors of security and safety rules, ensuring they comply with all procedures.

  • Communication and Coordination – Coordinate with other personnel:
    Work closely with security supervisors, gate clerks, and other staff to ensure a smooth and efficient process. Report incidents or delays:
    Relay any security concerns or gate delays to relevant departments (e.g., dispatch, warehouse). Maintain clear communication:
    Use radios, phones, or other communication devices to stay in touch with other security staff or personnel on site.

  • Customer Service and Assistance – Assist drivers and visitors:
    Provide helpful information to drivers and visitors about gate procedures, directions, and facility rules. Maintain a professional demeanor:
    Interact with the public and employees in a courteous, professional manner, balancing security duties with customer service.

  • Qualifications

    Education Requirements (All)

    High School Diploma or equivalent
