The Accountant will perform day-to-day accounting and tax duties, including preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts for a variety of clients. Responsibilities include preparing individual and business tax returns, assisting with tax planning, and supporting consulting engagements with financial analysis and documentation. The role involves direct interaction with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide clear explanations of accounting and tax matters.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Shelbyville, KY, with regular office hours and occasional extended hours during peak tax seasons.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.
• Experience with individual and business tax return preparation and familiarity with relevant federal and state tax regulations.
• Proficiency with accounting and tax software, as well as Microsoft Excel and other common office applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to clients.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment and maintain professional client relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA certification or progress toward licensure is preferred.
• Prior public accounting or tax preparation experience is beneficial, especially with small business and individual clients.
