Automation & Mechatronics Engineer
This isn't a programming-only role or an entry-level engineering position.
We're looking for a hands-on Controls Engineer who has supported manufacturing equipment, understands plant operations, and can step in when maintenance needs advanced controls expertise.
Based in Shelbyville, KY
, you'll support local manufacturing operations with occasional travel to facilities in Jeffersonville, IN and Farrell, PA (approximately 10%).
- Design, troubleshoot, and improve PLC and HMI control systems
- Support manufacturing equipment, machine startups, and process improvements
- Partner with maintenance teams to resolve complex controls issues and minimize downtime
- Implement automation upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Work with robotics, motion control, drives, sensors, and industrial networks
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
2–5+ years of manufacturing controls engineering experience
Hands‑on experience with Allen‑Bradley Control Logix
, Panel View
, Ethernet/IP, Device Net, servo drives, and VFDs
Experience supporting manufacturing equipment—not IT systems
U.S. Person as defined by ITAR/EAR requirements
Local to the area or willing to relocate within 45 miles of Shelbyville
Preferred Experience- Siemens S7 or Beckhoff PLCs
- SQL databases and basic industrial networking
