Position Summary:

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients as part of their routine healthcare or during important life-defining health decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while following established procedures and safety standards.
The PSR II builds trust and confidence with patients by clearly explaining procedures and performing specimen collection in a safe, accurate, and professional manner. This position demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strong attention to confidentiality and patient information accuracy.
Assignments may include placement in a doctor’s office, Patient Service Center (PSC), or other locations based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature after venipuncture to confirm specimens were labeled correctly in their presence.
Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including dress code, health and safety guidelines, and organizational principles.
Exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on established procedures.
Travel between multiple locations as needed, sometimes with minimal notice.
Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Demonstrate superior customer focus and communicate openly and professionally with patients, peers, and leadership.
Adapt quickly to change and support business needs.

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Job Requirements:

Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, overtime, and flexible hours.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
Willingness and ability to travel to multiple Patient Service Center and in-office locations.
Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Experience Requirements:

1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
