Location: Shelbyville, KY
Project Duration: 10 weeks / 2.5 months
Pay Rate:$25/hour
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week
Skillforce is currently hiring Skilled Laborers for a shop job in Shelbyville, KY. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a shop, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment and be comfortable performing a variety of hands‑on labor tasks. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and a commitment to working safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with general labor and material handling throughout the shop and work areas
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials and equipment
- Assist skilled tradesmen and shop personnel with daily production and fabrication tasks
- Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Measure, cut, move, and organize materials as directed
- Assist with the preparation and assembly of materials and components
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow directions from supervisors and skilled tradesmen
- Follow all company and job-site safety procedures
- Safely handle and move heavy materials as needed
- Assist with cleanup, organization, and other general shop duties
- Work effectively with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines
- Previous experience in a shop, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred
- Comfortable performing physical labor and working with heavy materials
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools
- Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain reliable attendance
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and background check
