Die Casting Engineer

Job Summary You'll support die designs, set-up samples, and trial evaluations for replacement dies or new model dies. This role plays a key part in developing and implementing improvement plans that target cycle time reductions and minimize scrap across our die casting operations.

Essential Functions Direct the maintenance and improvement of product quality and productivity

Provide technical assistance to Ryobi Die Casting (RDC) and customers as needed

Address die casting product issues in house and at the customer's request

Write End-Of-Run Die Maintenance Requests for responsible products

Develop trust and reliable partnerships with customers as needed

Guide and direct Process Techs as needed

Assist in process and quality training of new RDC personnel

Assist in writing 8-D reports, visiting customer plants, and developing quality training methods and practices

Integrate complex information from a variety of sources; detect trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships

Recommend suggestions to improve casting quality based on analysis and computer simulations on existing equipment

Maintain a basic understanding of die cast machine operation and logic

Plan short-term forecasting of responsible products (0-3 month outlook)
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

2 years of work experience

Preferred up to:

Technical Associate's degree plus 1 year of work experience, ORTechnical Bachelor's degree

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to lift 40 pounds; ability to stand/walk for lengths of time Plant conditions, including exposure to noise, fumes, and cleaning chemicals

Regular exposure to extreme temperatures; ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs.

Normal office conditions about 50% of the time
