The Marnel
C. Moorman Family Life Center is a community-based organization committed to the spiritual, social, physical, and economic development of youth and families in underserved communities. The Center provides out-of-school time programming designed to reduce barriers to opportunity and support long-term academic and economic success. Programs include after school enrichment, summer literacy initiatives, environmental education experiences, and workforce readiness exposure. These programs create a safe, supportive environment where young people can build skills, explore interests, and gain access to opportunities that may be limited due to economic hardship.
The Family Life Center works in partnership with schools, nonprofit organizations, and community agencies to connect youth and families to educational resources and enrichment experiences that support long-term stability. By strengthening access to consistent, high-quality programming, the Center helps address the opportunity gaps often associated with poverty. Ameri Corps VISTA members support this work through service focused on building organizational capacity.
By strengthening internal systems, data tracking, volunteer infrastructure, and community partnerships. VISTA members help ensure programs are sustainable, effective, and able to expand their impact for youth and families living in poverty. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.
