The Estimator will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bidding process, including quantity takeoffs, pricing, and proposal submission—for industrial scopes of work on sandblasting and painting, field and shop projects. This role is highly collaborative, requiring frequent coordination with general contractors (GCs), internal project managers, field teams, and key suppliers.

• Review project documents (drawings, specifications, RFIs, ASIs) to prepare comprehensive estimates for industrial scopes.
• Perform digital takeoffs using Planswift Software, including developing and maintaining custom databases and bid templates.
• Generate detailed bid proposals, pricing sheets, and scope clarifications.
• Monitor bid invitations and updates using bid management platforms such as Building Connected, Bid Tracer, Bid Hub, and Dodge.
• Participate in pre-bid and pre-start meetings with general contractors to clarify scope, logistics, and sequencing.
• Track and manage changes to contract documents and prepare corresponding change order (CO) requests.

• Serve as the main point of contact with GC Preconstruction Teams, ensuring timely response to bid-related inquiries.
• Interface regularly with the Industrial Project Management team to transition projects from estimating to execution.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders including sales, field supervisors, and accounting as needed to support bid accuracy and project planning.
• Work directly with Industrial Division Manager to align estimating strategy with operational goals.
• Participate in sales meetings, assist in tracking bid follow-ups, and debrief wins/losses with the team to improve future estimating strategy.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with key GC/Owners/Clients to position the company favorably for upcoming projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field (preferred, not required).
• 2–5+ years of experience as an estimator in painting, drywall, spray‑applied systems, or similar field.
• Strong proficiency with Plan Swift, or similar takeoff/estimating software.
• Familiarity with bid management platforms (e.g., Building Connected, Procore, Dodge).
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents with strong attention to detail.
• Experience pricing and preparing change orders and understanding how to assess contract modifications.
• Familiarity with construction project life cycles from bid to closeout.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Occasional travel to job sites or GC offices may be required for preconstruction meetings or project handoffs.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8 hours per day).
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications both on screen and in print.
• Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 lbs. (e.g., sample boards, printed plans).
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, mouse use, and document handling.
• Visual acuity to accurately perform digital takeoffs and read detailed construction documents.
• Occasional jobsite visits requiring walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders, and navigating uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, and high‑visibility vests when on job sites.
• Ability to travel locally or regionally as needed (less than 10% of the time).
