Overview
Responsible for planning, organizing, and administering patient care within the scope of RN training and expertise. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes, in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Tennessee.
ShiftNights; 7p‑7a. 36 hours per week, including some weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient’s progress toward goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
- Home Care (Novice):
Demonstrates ability to assess and evaluate patients in a home setting, autonomously providing physician‑ordered care, conducting primary care interviews, assessing home environment safety, performing comprehensive physical assessments, recognizing problems, asking questions, and contacting the primary care provider. - Patient Education (Novice):
Provides patient education on moderate difficulty topics. - Care Planning (Novice):
Anticipates resource needs, identifies distinct tasks, sets priorities, schedules activities, meets deadlines, and organizes work within areas of direct responsibility. - Evidence‑Based Nutrition Practice (Novice):
Searches for nutrition evidence to answer clinical questions, generally under direction while accomplishing assignments.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (current licensure).
- Relevant work experience; desired less than one year.
- Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate care, analyze patient information, utilize nursing process, and promote health.
