Logistics Support is responsible for supporting the daily logistics operations of Big G Express through securing freight, coordinating load coverage, negotiating rates, and maintaining an effective carrier network.
Description- Booking freight by coordinating with carriers via email, inbound, and outbound calls
- Multi-task and prioritize service for customers
- Communicate with customers and partner carriers in clear and concise manner
- Track and monitor loads to ensure on-time pickup and delivery, addressing issues as needed
- Utilize company systems and tools to book freight, manage loads, and properly vet carriers
- Negotiate rates with partner carriers and produce transactional quotes yielding favorable margin
- Create spreadsheets and reports for customers as needed
- Resolve billing/accounting discrepancies as needed
- Recruit and build larger carrier partnership network
- Upload load status in AS400 operating system utilizing tracking and tracing of all customer loads
- Utilize McLeod Software for uploading and maintaining customer paperwork, bills of lading, PODs, and rate confirmations
- Promote Big G brand by adhering to etiquette, integrity, and professionalism as expected by the Big G brand
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge and experience in a trucking environment
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Keyboard skills, working knowledge of PC, AS400, Excel and Word
- Detail oriented and excellent time management skills
- Team player, ability to work in a team environment
- Basic math skills
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
High school diploma or GED, bachelor’s degree preferred.
