Job Title and Details

Senior Accountant
Status: Full Time.
Hours: 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM.
Classification: Exempt.
Reporting to: Chief of Operations. Salary Range: $70 – 85K DOE.

Overview

Pediatric Healthcare Associates, a well-established and growing organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant who wants long-term stability, predictable hours, and true ownership of the day-to-day accounting and payroll function. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who excels in a comprehensive accounting environment and is comfortable overseeing A/P, A/R, payroll, benefits administration, retirement plan administration, and monthly financial reporting. You will work directly with the COO and play a critical role in maintaining accurate financials and ensuring smooth operational workflows across accounting, payroll, and HR.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including, but not limited to A/P, A/R, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, P&L reports, cash flow statement, and operational reports.
  • Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations and monitor company cash flow.
  • Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll through Paycor HRIS, ensuring accurate reporting of wages, benefits, and deductions.
  • Serve as Retirement Plan Administrator, ensuring proper contribution processing, record accuracy, and compliance support.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Operations and external CPA for quarterly reviews and year-end planning, reporting and tax preparation.
  • Manage internal and external audits including preparing required financial records, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Manage office space lease requirements, including tracking payment schedules and ensuring timely rent payments. Maintain a calendar of all lease-related deadlines, renewal dates, escalations, and required documentation. Provide the Chief of Operations with advance notice of all important dates, deadlines, upcoming payments, and any issues related to leases.
  • Oversee property tax obligations, including monitoring due dates, preparing or coordinating necessary filings, and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls and make recommendations to the Chief of Operations to improve policies, procedures and workflow to improve effectiveness and efficiency of financial and operational practices.
  • Provide budget tracking, reporting, and variance analysis to Chief of Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned. Regular and prompt attendance is expected and required.
Position Requirements
  • 4+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with Quick Books (required) and familiarity with Sage or similar systems.
  • Experience using Paycor HRIS for payroll and HR workflows or similar system.
  • Strong background in benefits administration, including health plans and retirement plans.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
