A growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join its tax practice. This individual will play a key role in preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting tax planning initiatives, conducting tax research, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical tax foundation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements while working closely with managers and partners.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
- Assist with tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business clients.
- Research federal, state, and local tax issues and communicate findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Identify potential tax-saving opportunities and assist in implementing client-focused solutions.
- Prepare responses to federal and state tax notices and inquiries.
- Work directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide exceptional service.
- Collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors, and other professional service providers as needed.
- Manage multiple engagements and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Review work prepared by junior staff and provide training, guidance, and mentorship.
- Stay current on tax law changes, regulatory developments, and industry trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA preferred.
- 3+ years of public accounting tax experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing complex individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
- Proficiency with tax software, accounting systems, Quick Books, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
