Key Responsibilities
+ Perform field inspections and construction observations to ensure work complies with approved plans, specifications, permits, and industry standards.
+ Monitor daily contractor activities and document construction progress, site conditions, and project compliance.
+ Inspect underground utility installations, including sewer line replacement activities, to verify quality workmanship and adherence to design requirements.
+ Accurately record inspection findings, measurements, and project updates within electronic reporting and tracking systems.
+ Prepare daily inspection reports, field notes, and supporting documentation using Microsoft Office and project management software.
+ Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and senior inspection staff to communicate observations and resolve field issues.
+ Verify materials, construction methods, and completed work meet project requirements and applicable regulations.
+ Identify potential concerns and escalate issues to senior project personnel when necessary.
+ Maintain a strong focus on site safety while working in active construction environments.
+ Travel to project sites as needed to conduct inspections and support project activities.
Qualifications Required
+ 1+ year of experience in civil construction, construction inspection, engineering support, utilities, or a related field.
+ Experience working on construction sites or infrastructure projects.
+ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
+ Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic reporting systems.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and construction site conditions.
+ Reliable transportation for travel between project locations.
Preferred
+
Experience with civil inspection, utility construction, underground infrastructure, sewer, water, drainage, or roadway projects.
+ Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and inspection procedures.
+ Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
+ Familiarity with electronic inspection software and construction documentation platforms.
+ Interest in pursuing certifications or a long-term career in construction inspection, civil engineering, or land surveying.
Work Environment
This position is primarily field-based, requiring regular presence at active construction sites and infrastructure projects. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineering and inspection professionals in a collaborative environment focused on quality, safety, and professional growth.
The current project is expected to last approximately one year and provides excellent exposure to civil infrastructure construction. Following project completion, employees may have opportunities to continue supporting additional projects or transition into other areas of the organization, including land surveying and engineering support services.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $30.00/hr.
