Position: Elementary School Teacher (26/27 SY)

Posting Information:
We are currently hiring for Kindergarten through 4th grade teachers for the  school year.

Interview Process:
If selected for an interview, you will be invited to complete an Asynchronous Virtual Interview, which should be completed within 48 hours of the invitation for best consideration. Candidates chosen for a second round interview will participate in an in-person hiring event which will be hosted on March 5th, 2026 and March 25th, 2026.

Schedule:

180 days per school year, 7 hours per day with start and end times varying by building.

Location:

Mountain View Elementary, Bordeaux Elementary, and Evergreen Elementary.

Salary: $64,664 - $119,032 annually, depending on experience. The listed salary range is based on the  school year and will be updated once  salaries are finalized.

FLSA Status:
Exempt

Benefits: 12 sick leave days of which 6 can be used for personal leave each school year; 5 days bereavement leave per school year; health insurance benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance. Retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS); other fringe benefits as allowed under the Shelton Education Association (SEA) Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Overview

Elementary teachers in our three K-4 elementary schools support the Shelton School District's Strategic Plan by developing students' skills through academic courses of study and implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, families, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

Requirements

* Teaching certificate with elementary education endorsement

* Ability to pass a Federal Criminal Background check

* Willingness to actively support Shelton School District's Strategic plan and initiatives

* Willingness to use District issued unit plans, lesson plans, and approved curriculum

* Ability to develop and maintain structures and routines that are conducive to an effective, safe, and welcoming environment

* Ability to assess students progress and modify instruction as needed

* Ability to use efficiently and effectively use technology

* Ability to scaffold instruction for a diverse student population

* Ability to maintain and effectively use a District issued classroom library

* Ability to maintain an upbeat, positive, and collaborative demeanor

* Ability to develop and maintain professional, positive relationships with students, staff, administrators, families, and the community

* Willingness to participate in school and building events and activities

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and tact in all aspects of employment

* Ability to incorporate lightheartedness and humor into the workplace
