CAD Technician

A Day In The Life

• Create 3-D models and 2-D drawings for multiple transformer product lines.
• Create detailed 2-D component and assembly drawings from customer and vendor drawings or models.
• Per engineer's general direction, produce and/or revise drawings.
• Maintain consistency in drawing layout and appearance per company standards. Ensure proper filing of issued drawings in both physical (if applicable) and electronic files.
• Provide feedback to appropriate engineers as to problems or questions related to work in progress.
• Resolve drawing related manufacturing and/or purchasing issues with appropriate plant personnel.
• Analyze dimension requirements and apply appropriate tolerance specifications as required.
• Provide working copies of drawings to engineers and production personnel as necessary.
• Acquire technical data via catalogs, the internet, vendors, to create models and drawings.
• Transform initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents.
• Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

• Must have at least 2 years of practical AutoCAD, Solid Works or Inventor experience.
• Experience with transformer manufacturing and practices is desired.
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Familiarity with spreadsheets and other business applications is desired.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
