Location:
Shelton and Glastonbury, CT offices.
WSP is seeking a full‑time Vice President to lead and deliver high‑quality environmental science projects, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and providing pragmatic direction to address current and future environmental challenges.
Responsibilities- Lead complex environmental projects; define scope, set budgets, monitor performance, track hours and expenses, and supervise subcontractors and staff.
- Provide strategic scientific leadership, taking ownership of project and site deliverables.
- Develop and expand business with existing and new clients; prepare proposals and support the value proposition.
- Scope, budget, and oversee Phase I/II/III Environmental Site Assessments and related projects.
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams across all phases of siting, licensing, and natural‑resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the long‑term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Environmental Science work for WSP.
- Lead contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings, ensuring technical accuracy.
- Assist in preparing annual updates to business tactical action plans.
- Develop and maintain scientific discipline certifications, accreditations, and competency improvements.
- Conduct needs analyses and client value surveys to align discipline function with business and project strategy.
- Sponsor and lead discipline meetings, providing updates and recommendations.
- Represent the discipline to federal, state, and local agencies, clients, subcontractors, industry groups, and community entities.
- Interpret and summarize data to support sound scientific and regulatory decisions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and cross‑sell WSP capabilities.
- Provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned staff.
- Stay current with latest environmental science techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate with professionals from multiple disciplines to deliver trusted advisory services.
- Make responsible and ethical decisions regarding company resources and conduct, in alignment with WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or a related life sciences field.
- 12+ years of experience in environmental consulting.
- Strong working knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and business impact.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Analytical and tactical lateral thinking with attention to detail.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management, clients, and staff.
- Advanced proficiency with office automation and communication software.
- Track record of upholding workplace safety and adhering to WSP’s health, safety, and conduct policies.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet business needs.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Experience managing the review of documents and preparation of discipline‑specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi‑project environment.

CompensationExpected Salary (all locations): $133,200 – $185,000.
