The R&D Project Manager, based in Shelton, will work within a global team of R&D Scientists and Applications Engineers, collaborating with Business Unit leaders, Sales, and Development partners to lead and coordinate New Product Development projects supporting wafer level products and advanced interconnect metallization businesses.
Responsibilities- Overall responsibility for planning and management of internal and external projects related to the development of Electronic Advanced Interconnect Solutions with a focus on Wafer Level Packaging Solutions.
- Assemble project teams, define schedules, track technical activities, and generate project progress reports.
- Work globally with R&D teams (US, Europe, Asia) and internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate expertise is employed in defining, planning, and executing projects.
- Carry out cost, time and resource planning for the projects, assess risks, and define countermeasures.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive portfolio management processes in collaboration with other Project Managers.
- Collaborate with Line of Business Project Managers, Product Managers, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure alignment and up-to-date information flow.
- Support the design of internal processes and the optimization of project management methods.
- B.Sc. degree in Material Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline; MS strongly preferred.
- Experience managing technology-oriented projects and/or experience in the electronics field.
- Capable of managing complex projects using Agile, Waterfall, or other methodologies; relevant Project Management training (PMP/CSM/CPMP or similar) strongly preferred.
- Bottom-line oriented, assertive, resilient, and able to operate within a high-performance cross-cultural team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, Ms Project, and similar tools.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 15% domestic and overseas).
