With nearly 50 professionals, we work on projects that shape the future of transportation across the Northeast, collaborating with state DOTs, municipalities, and private clients to make travel safer and more accessible. Whether it's designing roads, bridges, or multimodal systems, we ensure our designs are sustainable, cost-effective, and forward-thinking.

As a valuable part of our Transportation team, a Project Engineer will support a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience with responsibilities such as:

  • Lead and assist in the design and development of roadway/highway projects, including horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection and interchange design, and ADA compliance
  • Prepare engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with Connecticut DOT and local agency standards
  • Perform geometric design, grading, drainage, pavement design, and traffic control planning
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and engineering analyses as required
  • Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams including traffic, structural, environmental, and survey professionals
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables; ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards
  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders, and public agencies to provide project updates and resolve technical challenges
  • Mentor junior staff and support business development through proposal preparation and client meetings

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) – required
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in roadway and highway design
  • Proficiency in Micro Station, Open Roads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or equivalent design software
  • Strong understanding of AASHTO, MUTCD, and local DOT design standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
  • Experience with municipal roadways
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and environmental documentation
  • Active participation in professional organizations (ASCE, ITE, APWA, etc.)
