Controller for CPA Firm
The Innovative CPA Group (ICG) is looking for a Controller to join our team in our Shelton, CT headquarters. The Innovative CPA Group is an employee-centric firm comprised of experienced tax and accounting professionals. Essential Responsibilities:- Oversee and present monthly/annual financial reports including monthly profit and loss by location, forecast vs. budget by location, etc.
- Assess and evaluate financial performance of firm with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.
- Lead financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, including in-depth review and analysis of target company financial statements, key performance metrics, and risk exposures.
- Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and financial software. Provide regular maintenance and backup of all accounting systems and supervise company financial staff.
- Oversee the month-end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.
- Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.
- Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners.
- Oversee weekly cash management and AP Department, approve large payables, sign checks, authorize large wires and ACHs.
- Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance relating to the collection process.
- At least eight (8) years of Controller/CFO experience
- Expert with Quick Books Online
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues
