A respected and well-established organization in the public sector / government services space is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with MUNIS experience to join its accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on MUNIS payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage payroll for a multi-department workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for a multi-department employee population using MUNIS
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule, including regular, overtime, and special payroll runs
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including tax withholding, direct deposits, and benefit deductions
• Review and validate timesheets, payroll reports, and earnings codes prior to processing
• Manage garnishments, deductions, and benefit with holdings
• Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end payroll activities
• Support W-2 processing, audits, and payroll reporting requirements
• Respond to employee and management payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience
• Hands-on MUNIS payroll system experience required
• Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax withholding, and compliance requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage sensitive information with high confidentiality
• Proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting tools
