Based out of Shelton, CT, they are looking to hire an Associate Technical Writer (Technical Content Designer) on a contract-to-hire (C2H) basis. Contract Duration: 6 Months (Potential for extension and FTE conversion based on business needs)
What You Will Be Doing- Design, write, and update web-based customer help content
- Collaborate with cross-functional, global teams
- Lead continuous content improvement cycles
- Ensure adherence to brand/style guidelines
- Track assignments and progress using Jira
- Apply user feedback for iterative development
- 50% Web-based technical content creation (Mad Cap Flare, HTML/XML, UI/UX)
- 20% Collaborative content development (global teams, product development cycle)
- 15% Continuous improvement using user feedback and analytical tools
- 15% Content strategy (modular content, documentation standards, multimedia integration)
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication or a science/engineering-related discipline
- 7–10 years of relevant experience
- Strong proficiency in Mad Cap Flare
- Demonstrated proficiency in HTML and XML authoring, and understanding of modular content/single-sourcing
- Intermediate Jira skills (used daily for assignments)
- Strong UI/UX design principles
- Outstanding English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Highly detail-oriented; excellent problem-solving and time management abilities
- Native-level fluency in written and spoken English
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience integrating and optimizing AI within technical content workflows
- Familiarity with embedding multimedia into web-based content
- Experience creating documentation for AI chatbots
- Strong requirements-gathering skills
- Experience in life sciences, engineering, biotechnology, or a technical communication environment
