Position Overview The Director of Supply Chain for the Industrial SBU is responsible for leading the execution of sourcing and purchasing operations, ensuring consistent supplier performance, reliable material availability, and seamless alignment with demand and supply planning. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on execution, translating category strategy and planning inputs into measurable operational outcomes. This role leads purchasing and operational sourcing teams across the SBU and is accountable for supplier performance, purchasing execution, and end-to-end material flow into manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead execution of sourcing and purchasing activities aligned with category strategies
- Manage RFQs and supplier onboarding in partnership with Category Management
- Serve as the single point of accountability for supplier execution performance across the SBU, including on-time delivery (OTD), lead time adherence, quality, and responsiveness
- Establish and lead supplier performance management processes, including scorecards and business reviews
- Drive corrective actions, recovery plans, and continuous improvement with underperforming suppliers
- Lead purchase order execution, confirmations, expediting, and supplier delivery coordination across all SBU manufacturing operations
- Ensure material availability supports plant operations and customer commitments
- Drive improvement in key operational metrics, including reduction of past due orders, elimination of material shortages, and mitigation of supplier disruptions
- Translate demand and supply planning inputs into actionable supplier and purchasing execution strategies
- Align supplier capacity, lead times, and material flow with business requirements
- Identify and escalate risks and constraints to cross-functional leadership teams
- Execute inventory strategies in partnership with planning and operations teams
- Reduce excess and obsolete inventory through supplier and order optimization
- Lead escalation and recovery efforts across the supply base to maintain continuity of supply
- Lead cross-functional resolution of supplier disruptions and material shortages
- Maintain continuity of supply in volatile or constrained environments
- Support implementation and realization of cost savings initiatives
- Drive operational productivity improvements through lead time reduction, supplier performance improvement, and purchase order and inventory optimization
- Ensure contract and pricing compliance across suppliers
- Establish a culture of accountability and ownership, operational discipline and urgency, data-driven decision-making, and strong cross-functional collaboration
- Build organizational capability and develop future supply chain leaders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, sourcing, or purchasing
- 5+ years of leadership experience in complex or multi-site environments
- Demonstrated success in driving supplier performance improvement, managing purchasing execution and material flow, and delivering service levels in manufacturing environments
- Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, or Oracle) and end-to-end purchasing processes
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA)
- Experience in industrial manufacturing or engineered product environments
- Advanced experience with SAP and end-to-end purchasing processes
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, Lean/Six Sigma)
- Experience operating in matrixed, multi-business environments
- Familiarity with procurement analytics and digital tools
