Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Sr Creative Designer provides day-to-day creative leadership for Barnum Financial Group’s Advisor Marketing team. This hands-on role combines design and concept development with project leadership, creative review and workflow coordination.

The ideal candidate understands how creative work functions in a professional business environment. They can move beyond executing requests to clarify objectives, recommend solutions, present ideas and connect creative decisions to marketing and business goals.

The Sr Creative Designer will create high-priority work across multiple channels while helping establish stronger creative standards, processes and capabilities for the Advisor Marketing function. The position also offers the opportunity to develop toward broader creative-services leadership as the function grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop creative concepts for advisor campaigns, marketing programs, presentations, events and business-development initiatives.
  • Translate marketing objectives, audience needs and business challenges into clear creative strategies and deliverables.
  • Design complex and high-priority work across print, digital, presentation and multimedia channels.
  • Present concepts, explain creative recommendations and respond constructively to stakeholder feedback.
  • Partner with the Director of Advisor Marketing to establish priorities, manage capacity and coordinate timelines and revisions.
  • Manage multiple creative projects from initial concept through final delivery.
  • Review work for concept strength, visual quality, clarity, accuracy, brand consistency and strategic alignment.
  • Build productive relationships with marketers, advisors, leadership and other internal stakeholders.
  • Improve templates, design systems, creative standards and production processes.
  • Maintain organized creative files, assets and resources.
  • Identify and elevate issues involving strategic direction, competing priorities, scope, timing or stakeholder expectations.
  • Gradually assume broader responsibility for creative discovery, resource planning and stakeholder leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, marketing, advertising or a closely related field.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in graphic design, integrated creative development or a related discipline.
  • Experience operating at a senior, lead or equivalent level, including ownership of complex creative projects.
  • Previous experience working in a corporate, agency or other professional business environment.
  • Agency experience or experience supporting multiple internal clients, accounts or business partners is strongly preferred.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating concept development and polished execution across multiple channels.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation-design capabilities.
  • Experience producing print, digital, campaign and branded marketing materials.
  • Working proficiency in video editing and motion design using Premiere Pro, After Effects or comparable tools is preferred.
  • Basic photography (DSLR) experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of typography, composition, visual hierarchy, brand systems and production standards.
  • Ability to present creative work, explain design decisions and communicate effectively with non-creative stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines and rounds of feedback in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment, organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial-services, professional-services or regulated-industry experience is preferred but not required.

Measures of Success

  • Consistently high-quality and strategically relevant creative work.
  • Reliable delivery across multiple projects and channels.
  • Strong stakeholder confidence in creative recommendations.
  • Effective management of priorities, timelines and revisions.
  • Greater consistency across campaigns, presentations and advisor materials.
  • Improved creative standards, templates, and working processes.
  • Increasing independence from the Director on routine creative decisions.
  • Demonstrated readiness for broader creative-services leadership.
