Position: Philanthropy Assistant-Catholic Charities of Fairfield County

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, located in Shelton, CT, is seeking a full-time (35 hours/week),benefits-eligible Philanthropy Assistant. Reporting to the Stewardship Manager, this hybrid position supports the philanthropy team by providing essential administrative, event, and stewardship support. This role is responsible for processing donations in the donor database, maintaining accurate donor records, performing data clean-up, and preparing donor acknowledgements.

This position works closely with the Philanthropy team and Finance department and ensures the accuracy and integrity of the donor database. Additional responsibilities include assisting with events, marketing campaigns,and general administrative support.

Accountabilities
  • Enter donor information and fundraising data into Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date constituent and gift records while ensuring data hygiene and confidentiality.
  • Perform database clean-up initiatives and audits to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepare and send donor thank-you letters, acknowledgement emails, tribute notes, and related correspondence.
  • Assist with stewardship efforts including tracking donor interactions, scheduling acknowledgements, and compiling donor profiles.
  • Generate reports and produce constituent or gift lists for solicitations or internal use.
  • Provide logistical support for fundraising and donor events including maintaining attendance records, creating supporting materials, and managing donor invoices.
  • Assist with event setup, registration, and post-event follow-up.
  • Schedule social media posts across multiple platforms using Sprout Social.
  • Assist with tracking grant records.
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify potential donors.
  • Create marketing and event materials using Canva.
  • Provide general administrative support including meeting support, managing supplies, and handling mail.
  • Research donor prospects within Raiser’s Edge and other tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Some experience (paid or volunteer) in nonprofit development, fundraising, or operations is a plus.
  • Experience or willingness to learn Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.
  • Strong writing, proofing, and editing skills; excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills by phone, video, and in-person.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Ability to organize work efficiently, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure. Self-starter with a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to attend weekend or evening events as required.
  • Access to transportation.
