Overall ResponsibilityPediatric Healthcare Associates is seeking a Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. We're looking for someone who has demonstrated excellent patient and family-centered care, is a team player and has a strong work ethic. The Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is primarily responsible for providing safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients from infancy through young adulthood, as well as other duties as assigned.
The full-time position requires working 30 to 37.5 hours per week (day shifts, evenings, one weekend per month and holidays as needed - shift differentials are offered for working evenings, weekends and holidays).
Essential Skills & Abilities- Process X-Ray orders.
- Process prescription refills faxed from pharmacies and monitor office prescription refill line.
- Perform checks for crash cart monthly.
- Complete DCF forms.
- Read, record, and process all cultures.
- Monitor clinician’s schedules and bring areas of concern to a manager.
- Monitor and complete Tasks for all offices in EHR.
- Scribe with clinicians (unless not requested).
- Review and prioritize phone and task messages for physicians.
- Answer patients’ questions and respond to requests.
- Dress wounds, give injections, and provide immunizations.
- Educate patients on asthma medications & equipment, Epi pen, treatments, etc.
- Review charts when needed for transfers, medication requests, etc.
- Reorder vaccines, medicine, or oxygen when necessary.
- VCF ordering and supply monitoring.
- Conduct lab tests and procedures.
- Triage.
- Monitor injection list.
- Responsible for reviewing/responding to all communications via PHA email, Elevate, task etc.
- All other duties as required or assigned.
- Graduated from an accredited LPN program with a current license in good standing in the State of Connecticut.
- Previous Nursing experience (preferably in pediatrics)
- EHR Experience
- Experience administering injections
- Anatomy knowledge
- Medication administration
