Position OverviewThe Quality Engineer will lead the Quality Control Group and manage the Metrology Labs while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 standards. This role plays a key part in driving quality initiatives, overseeing inspection programming, calibration, and validations, and collaborating across teams to ensure customer satisfaction and continual improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead the Quality Control Group and supervise Metrology Lab personnel.
- Represent QC during ESI, APQP, PPAPs, etc. to achieve:
- Prototype development and inspections.
- pFMEAs.
- Quality Control Planning and inspection fixturing.
- Capability studies and Gage R&R’s.
- First Article Inspections and Validations.
- Supplier Change Requests (SCRs).
- Oversee inspection programming for new and existing products.
- Lead calibration efforts and ensure compliance.
- Support the Quality Group by:
- Participating in Management Reviews.
- Documenting and resolving nonconformances.
- Driving Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Supporting internal and customer audits.
- Conducting prototype inspections.
- Assisting with continual improvement initiatives.
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016.
- Higher education in engineering or related field.
- Strong stamping/machining and/or manufacturing background with mechanical inspection knowledge.
- Proficiency in:
- Mini Tab statistical analysis.
- MS Office (Excel, Word).
- CMM / VMM programming.
- Ability to manage multiple quality initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge of qualification procedures: PPAP, APQP, PMA, and vendor/supplier approvals.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Hands‑on leadership experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Busy manufacturing facility with cross‑functional collaboration.
- Must be comfortable managing inspection, audits, and validations while following strict safety protocols.
