Job Title:
CMM Programmer / Quality Engineer
Location:
Shelton, CT
Salary: $90K
SummaryEnsure proper use of advanced quality planning and engineering to improve product quality, reliability, and overall process performance while supporting internal and external customers.
Responsibilities- Monitor product quality and reliability systems
- Create and maintain quality documentation and records
- Develop and run CMM programs using PC-DMIS
- Measure tooling components and document results
- Implement detection systems to prevent quality issues
- Prepare reports including PPM, cost of quality, NCR, and process data
- Develop and support quality programs including tracking, analysis, and problem solving
- Maintain accurate quality documentation including complaints, control plans, and logs
- Manage gauge calibration system
- Complete and submit PPAPs on time
- Develop control plans and in process inspection records
- Issue NCRs and manage containment and corrective actions
- Perform and document 8D corrective actions
- Enter required data into company systems
- Support training of team members
- Operate lifting and shop equipment safely
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other duties as needed within manufacturing scope
- No direct reports
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment or equivalent CQE background
- Hands on experience with PC-DMIS CMM programming
- Experience with ISO
9001 and IATF
16949 systems
- Strong understanding of quality tools and problem solving methods
- Experience with FMEA, corrective and preventive actions
- Ability to analyze data using statistical methods
- Knowledge of audit processes including planning, execution, and follow up
- Strong technical writing skills
- Advanced computer skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and customers
- Understanding of OSHA and safety standards
- Strong knowledge of ISO
9001 and IATF
16949
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret technical instructions in written, verbal, and diagram form.
Work EnvironmentOffice and manufacturing environment with exposure to plant conditions.
Physical RequirementsUse of tools and equipment requiring coordination and focus; exposure to manufacturing environment including noise and machinery; use of PPE including safety shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection.
CompetencyAbility to develop and manage quality systems, apply inspection and testing methods, and use statistical analysis to improve processes.
