Job Title:
Quality Manager
Salary: $130,000
Location:
Shelton, CT
Overall responsibility for managing the Quality department to establish advanced quality and reliability engineering practices that enhance product quality, reliability, and customer acceptance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Set, direct, and support priorities of the Quality team, including development of individual accountabilities.
- Review and reset objectives through performance evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and improve departmental metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Quality function.
- Establish and maintain training processes for measurement techniques, fit and function, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of PPAP, ISIR, NCR, SPC, inspections, gauge programs, internal audits, and cost of quality metrics.
- Lead and support resolution of customer quality issues.
- Act as primary customer liaison for quality-related matters.
- Attend customer meetings and represent the Quality function.
- Review and ensure effectiveness of 8D reports and corrective actions.
- Participate in APQP and quote review activities.
- Maintain IATF 16949 and ISO
9001 compliance. - Develop and maintain quality procedures, standards, and manuals.
- Ensure full implementation of quality systems and procedures.
- Maintain regular attendance and compliance with company policies.
- Travel as required.
Direct management responsibility for all Quality department personnel.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of manufacturing experience in metalworking or similar industry.
- Minimum 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong experience with ISO
9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems.
- Strong knowledge of FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, and 8D methodologies.
- Ability to analyze data and drive process improvements.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with internal teams and customers.
- Experience with ERP systems and quality documentation systems.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Strong technical writing and organizational skills.
- Analyze data and draw conclusions to improve processes.
- Evaluate information from multiple sources and make sound decisions.
- Solve complex quality and manufacturing problems.
- Interpret technical instructions in various formats.
Combination of office and manufacturing environment.
Physical RequirementsThis position occasionally requires travel by car or plane.
