We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Merchandiser to support the merchandising team for Really Good Stuff's Curriculum/STEM category. This role is ideal for someone early in their merchandising career who is passionate about eCommerce, retail merchandising, product management, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
The Assistant Merchandiser will help execute merchandising strategies by supporting product launches, assortment management, promotional activities, inventory coordination, reporting, and product content across , Amazon marketplaces, and print channels. Working closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, and Supply Chain, this role plays an important part in ensuring products are presented accurately, launched successfully, and positioned to drive sales and customer engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Support the merchandising team in executing category strategies across eCommerce, marketplace, and print channels.
- Assist with assortment management, pricing updates, promotional execution, and product merchandising.
- Help maintain online product collections and merchandising presentations.
- Ensure products are accurately represented across all customer touchpoints.
- Coordinate product setup and maintenance, ensuring accurate product information, images, specifications, and descriptions.
- Support new product launches and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with website merchandising updates and product content improvements.
- Help maintain product data within merchandising systems.
- Prepare weekly and monthly merchandising reports.
- Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, promotional effectiveness, and key merchandising metrics.
- Identify trends and provide observations to support merchandising decisions.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and data analysis using Excel and other reporting tools.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning.
- Coordinate product availability for promotions and new product launches.
- Assist in resolving inventory, product setup, or data discrepancies.
- Monitor competitor assortments, pricing, promotions, and merchandising strategies.
- Compile competitive insights and market trends for the merchandising team.
- Share observations that may influence assortment and promotional decisions.
- Maintain product, vendor, and SKU information.
- Support product lifecycle management, assortment changes, and product maintenance.
- Assist with vendor communication and documentation as needed.
- Work closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Product Development, Creative, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to support merchandising initiatives.
- Ensure product information remains accurate across all selling channels.
- Assist with quality assurance, packaging coordination, and product readiness activities.
Required
- 1–2 years of experience in merchandising, retail, eCommerce, buying support, category management support, or a related business function.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Comfortable working with data, reports, and business metrics.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with eCommerce platforms, marketplaces, ERP systems, or Product Information Management (PIM) systems.
- Experience using AI tools (such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot) to improve productivity, reporting, or content creation.
- Experience with business intelligence or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Interest or experience in educational products, curriculum, STEM, consumer products, or retail merchandising.
