Assistant Product Category Manager - Curriculum/STEM

We are seeking an Assistant Product Category Manager to join our Really Good Stuff team and support our Curriculum/STEM

In this role, you'll help bring our merchandising strategy to life across , Amazon marketplaces, and print channels
. You'll work alongside experienced team members and partner with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to support product assortments, promotions, inventory planning, and overall category performance.
This position is based full-time in our Shelton, Connecticut office.
What You'll Do Category & Merchandising Support- Support category plans across product assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising.
- Help execute merchandising initiatives across eCommerce, marketplace, and print channels.
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve product performance, customer engagement, and category growth.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer needs to help identify new opportunities.
- Support the launch and ongoing management of new and existing products.
- Help maintain and optimize product assortments and content across and marketplace channels.
- Monitor eCommerce performance and identify opportunities to improve product visibility, customer experience, and conversion.
- Support senior Category Managers in bringing new products and merchandising initiatives to market.
- Support SKU-level analysis, including sales performance, inventory levels, projections, and minimum order quantities.
- Assist with weekly category reporting and help identify key insights, risks, and recommended actions.
- Use data to support merchandising, pricing, promotional and inventory decisions.
- Work closely with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to execute category initiatives.
- Help ensure product information, packaging, labeling, and other product details are accurate and complete.
- Support projects and initiatives that improve the customer experience and overall performance.
- 1-3 years of experience in merchandising, eCommerce, buying, category management, product development, marketing, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Interest in developing a career in merchandising and category management
. - Experience with eCommerce, consumer products, education, or businesses with large product assortments is a plus.
- Exposure to product development, private brands, inventory planning, pricing, or promotions is helpful but not required
. - Comfortable working with data and using Excel or similar tools to identify trends and support business decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
- Curious, proactive, and comfortable learning in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in using AI and emerging tools to improve analysis, productivity, and decision-making is a plus.
