Territory Sales Manager - Northern Colorado
The Territory Sales Manager (TM) is responsible for driving revenue growth by prospecting and acquiring new clients while maintaining relationships with existing customers. This role requires a proactive and results‑driven individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills. The TM will identify sales opportunities, present products or services, negotiate deals, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
A successful Territory Manager must be a self‑starter who works well independently and as a team member. The individual will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Manage assigned territory to ensure effective, efficient and economical use of available time and company assets to achieve sales objectives.
- Conduct sales calls on distributors and all potential users/consumers of Hubbell Wiring Device‑Kellems products.
- Train distributor personnel to sell and promote Hubbell products; manage distributor inventory/investments to ensure maintenance of proper inventories to service the trading area and maximize the “Return on Investment”.
- Conduct sales training, internal and external, within the district and region as directed by field management.
- Conduct formal sales presentations to various groups, distributors, and end‑users. Communicate to diverse types of end‑users in a variety of ways, either by email, MS Teams/Zoom, phone, small group meetings, person‑to‑person meetings, trade shows and business oriented social functions.
- Communicate through district manager on any issues, problems, opportunities, successes, and new products.
- Service distributors and end‑users while creating demand for the company’s product offering.
- Build rapport and strong relationships with distribution, end‑users and specifying influences.
- Cover open territories with assignment made by the district manager.
- Serve as a customer information center for literature requests, catalog requests, technical detail, drawings, and cross‑reference information.
- Continuously improve sales techniques, product knowledge, and interpersonal skills through training and self‑development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations in all sales activities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree / 3‑5+ years related industry or with comparable product or service.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.
- Excellent persuasive interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with potential and existing clients.
- Customer‑oriented mindset with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and building long‑term relationships.
- Resilience to handle rejection and setbacks while maintaining a positive attitude and persistent approach towards achieving goals.
- Strong organizational skills to manage leads, follow‑ups, and sales appointments efficiently.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, One Drive, SAP Concur, experience with preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the sales team and other departments to ensure customer needs are met effectively.
