Enter the role of HVAC/R Service Assistant Technician in the Charlotte, NC area (Energy Force LLC Division of Budderfly). This entry‑level position focuses on ensuring optimal, efficient operation of the Budderfly HVAC unit fleet and maintaining system performance.

Budderfly’s HVAC units support our energy‑saving initiatives. Maintaining these technologies is vital to both customer satisfaction and our replacement program with ultra‑high‑efficiency units.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure continued excellent operation of HVAC units within geographic area, including maintenance and repair of HVAC/R systems.
  • Identify maintenance risks on HVAC/R equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC/R systems.
  • Complete commissioning checks to ensure efficient operation, including controller configuration.
  • Provide physical maintenance such as filter changes, coil cleaning, belt inspection and replacement, and other mechanical checks.
  • Respond to emergency service calls on nights and weekends when on‑call.
  • Perform warranty services and other repair tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Keep daily logs and records of all activities in the company work order system.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customers’ requirements.
  • Assist customers with queries.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • HVAC controls experience; familiarity with Lennox Core Controllers and Carrier System Vu controllers is a benefit.
  • Graduated from a technical school.
  • Ability to recognize control and mechanical issues before they compound.
  • Enjoys continuous learning, both technically and professionally.
  • Desire to grow professionally beyond routine maintenance tasks.
  • Desire to help shape a developing team of HVAC technicians.
  • Customer‑ and safety‑focused individual.
  • Ability to travel within the region and surrounding states.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative work with cross‑functional teams.
Tools and Vehicle

All tools and equipment required for daily work will be supplied by Budderfly. A vehicle with maintenance and reimbursement will be provided after the completion of the training period.

Compensation

$18–$25 USD per hour, based on experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.
