Adobe Martech Tech Lead

Subway's Guest Engineering team is at the center of a major transformation in how we engage with millions of guests every day. We operate a modern, full-scale Adobe Experience Cloud platform – spanning Real-Time CDP, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Customer Journey Analytics, Adobe Target, Workfront, Adobe Fusion, and Adobe Campaign – and we are now building the internal engineering capability to own and evolve it.

About

the Role

The Adobe Martech Tech Lead is the senior-most technical voice for this platform. This is not a management role – it is a hands‑on, deeply technical position for an engineer who knows the Adobe ecosystem inside out and is energized by the opportunity to shape how a global QSR brand uses it. You will serve as the platform architect, technical decision‑maker, engineering mentor, and quality bar for a cross‑functional team of ten senior engineers and quality engineers spanning CRM & Loyalty, Personalization & , and Merchandising Automation.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the hands‑on technical lead across the Adobe Experience Cloud stack – including AJO, RT‑CDP, AEP, CJA, Adobe Target, Adobe Campaign, Workfront, and Adobe Fusion. Provide architectural guidance, technical standards, and engineering decision‑making that spans all three Guest Engagement product teams.
  • Act as a working engineer and technical mentor to the broader team – conducting deep code and configuration reviews, unblocking complex engineering challenges, and elevating the platform knowledge and craft of all ten engineers and quality engineers on the team.
  • Lead platform architecture decisions including data schema design, identity resolution strategy, AEP profile governance, and value engineering practices such as profile consumption optimization and data architecture cost management.
  • Drive the AI‑first engineering culture of the team. Champion the use of Claude and reusable engineering Skills. Develop team‑wide automation patterns, prompt libraries, and best practices that increase velocity and reduce toil across the full Adobe stack.
  • Serve as the technical interface between the engineering team, Subway product leadership, and Adobe Professional Services. Translate business requirements into platform architecture, influence Adobe product roadmap conversations, and represent engineering in cross‑functional planning.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of hands‑on marketing technology or digital engineering experience, with at least 5 years in senior or lead roles.
  • Strong, demonstrable depth across Adobe Experience Platform – with an emphasis on Real‑Time CDP, Adobe Journey Optimizer, and Customer Journey Analytics as the core platforms for this role.
  • Proven experience as a technical lead or platform architect in an enterprise Adobe Martech environment.
  • Experience designing and governing AEP data architecture, including XDM schema design, identity namespace strategy, profile merge policies, and data usage labeling.
  • Hands‑on experience engineering AJO journeys, offer decisioning logic, and cross‑channel orchestration across email, push, and SMS.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and data privacy requirements as applied to marketing technology platforms.
  • Proficiency with AI‑assisted development tooling (Claude, Git Hub Copilot, or equivalent) as a daily engineering practice.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex platform architecture into clear engineering standards, patterns, and documentation.
  • Strong technical communication skills – equally comfortable in a PR review, an architecture whiteboard session, or a stakeholder presentation.
  • Deep comfort with ambiguity; able to make sound architectural decisions with incomplete information.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Benefits
  • Insurance plans (Medical, Life)
  • Pension/401K/RSP (country specific)
  • Competitive bonus
  • Mobility allowance
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Company holidays
  • Volunteering time
  • And more
