Ranpak Corporation seeks a Sr. Perception Engineer, in Shelton, CT, to develop advanced software modules for robotic perception systems. The position requires a Bachelor of Science (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 4 years of engineering experience. The role involves hands-on work in robotics and machine perception systems using C++, with knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain software modules for robotic perception systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate perception components into robotic platforms.
- Design robust, production-ready software with attention to reliability and performance.
- Contribute to large-scale software libraries and maintainable codebases.
- Apply machine learning techniques to real-world perception problems as appropriate.
- Hands-on experience developing robotics and machine perception systems in C++.
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with OpenCV and the Point Cloud Library (PCL) (3+ years).
- Proficiency in Modern C++ (RAII, STL, templates, and contemporary language features).
- Proficiency with Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience developing robust, production-ready software systems.
- Experience maintaining and extending large-scale software libraries.
- Proficiency with ROS and other robotics middleware frameworks.
- Experience with parallel computing technologies (e.g., TBB, CUDA).
- Strong command of linear algebra libraries (e.g., Eigen).
- Background applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
- Proficiency with modern version control workflows using Git.
- Familiarity with agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor of Science (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or closely related field.
- 4+ years of engineering experience related to perception, robotics, or software development.
