Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Compliance Coordinator to support fast-paced global supply chain operations. This temporary-to-permanent role is ideal for an individual who thrives under pressure, demonstrates a strong sense of urgency, and can manage multiple international shipments across air, ocean, truck, and intermodal transportation modes. The Logistics Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for the daily execution of international import and export activities, collaborating closely with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and full regulatory compliance.

The role also involves reporting and data analysis, shipment troubleshooting, freight billing support, and participation in compliance initiatives. Strong organizational skills, systems aptitude, and a high level of accountability are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute shipping activities for assigned international lanes, including air, ocean, trucking, and intermodal transportation for both imports and exports.
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders to ensure seamless transportation execution and compliance.
  • Monitor, track, and expedite shipments to ensure on-time delivery; proactively escalate delays or issues to management.
  • Generate, analyze, and summarize weekly and ad-hoc reports to identify gaps, trends, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain close communication with overseas vendors, carriers, and freight forwarders to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Support freight audit activities by gathering rate data, reviewing invoices, and identifying discrepancies.
  • Code and process freight invoices through internal systems (BBS and TAP); upload freight bills to cost accounting systems and ensure timely approvals.
  • Manage EDI import records and perform record retention duties in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Handle export inquiries and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company documentation standards.
  • Provide spot quotes for air freight using global logistics software.
  • Support system testing and implementation of enhancements or upgrades.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and support corrective action initiatives.
  • Perform data gathering and root cause analysis related to key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support CTPAT initiatives by collecting and maintaining policies and documentation from foreign suppliers.
  • Maintain and support free trade agreement databases, including USMCA certificates.
  • Serve as backup for critical import and export processes as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in international logistics, import/export coordination, or global supply chain operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in time-sensitive, fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with JD Edwards and/or global trade management software preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
