Material Handler I
This full-time, non-exempt Material Handler I role supports warehouse operations by accurately assembling orders, staging and loading outbound shipments, and managing into-stock pallets from production. The position focuses on safe and efficient material handling, precise use of warehouse systems and equipment, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-controlled warehouse environment.
Responsibilities- Assemble customer orders accurately according to pick paperwork and established workflows.
- Use PBIX order processing flow to prioritize pick orders and ensure timely completion.
- Maximize pallet cube when assembling orders to optimize space and stability.
- Utilize handheld scanners, scale systems, cameras, and the MRP system to support picking, packing, inspection, and shipping activities.
- Follow all special instructions on pick paperwork and adhere to pick and inspection workflows.
- Physically stage orders for trailer loading, ensuring correct placement and organization.
- Photograph staged orders and perform secondary checks to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Load LTL and TL trailers safely and securely in accordance with internal standards and customer specifications.
- Use load bars, straps, and other bracing mechanisms to secure outbound shipments.
- Photograph shipments after loading and use handheld scanners and the MRP system to complete shipping processes.
- Weigh and record dimensions for into-stock pallets received from production.
- Accurately record pallet quantities and identifiers and move finished pallets into warehouse racks.
- Prepare for and perform scheduled cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and well-maintained to support safety and efficiency.
- Move with ease around manufacturing equipment while performing material handling tasks.
- Stack finished goods by hand and move them using a pallet jack as required.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds in the normal course of work.
- Proficiency operating 3-stage and quad mast 3-wheel forklifts.
- Skilled use of handheld scanners for picking, packing, inspection, and shipping processes.
- Ability to use scale systems to weigh and record product and pallet information accurately.
- Experience with PBIX order processing for prioritizing and managing pick orders.
- Comfort using cameras to document staged orders and loaded shipments.
- Understanding of inspection, picking, and packing workflows in a warehouse environment.
- Capability to move safely and efficiently around manufacturing and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to stack finished goods by hand and move them using a pallet jack.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- OSHA forklift certification.
