Job DescriptionFreedom is seeking a vibrant individual to be our school designated guest teacher. This person must be flexible, positive, and motivating. The responsibilities include creating a safe learning environment, facilitating instruction, and maintaining high expectations for all.
This position is for the 26‑27 school year and is a full‑time position with benefits. The School Designated Guest Teacher (permanent substitute) will report to the school each instructional day and perform the instructional and classroom management processes for teachers who are absent within the school.
Travel requirement:
If there are no teacher absences at the assigned school on a particular day, the SDGT may be required to fill a teacher absence at another school location that day.
Total Contract Days: 187 days (10‑month employee status)
- 170 Instructional Days
- 7 Bullitt Days
- 4 Professional Learning Days
- 2 Teacher Opening and Closing Days
- 4 Paid Holidays
- 10 Sick Days
- 3 Personal Days
- 3 Emergency Days
Minimum requirement: Must have a Bachelor's Degree
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Salary is a "DAILY RATE" based on the board approved salary schedule for the school year.
Position Type: Full‑Time
Salary: $133.90 to $160.68 Substitute
Benefits- $20,000 life insurance policy – paid for by the State of Kentucky
- $30,000 life insurance policy – paid for by Bullitt County Public Schools
- Health insurance (employee monthly premium based on plan selected)
- Optional HRA waiver or limited purpose HRA
- Sick, personal, and emergency leave (prorated depending upon start date)
- Personal leave not used in school year rolls over to sick leave
- Earn 2 more sick days if you do not use any sick leave during school year
