This role is vital in supporting our certified teachers to provide high-quality instruction, monitor student progress, and enhance the overall educational experience for students with special needs.

Position Details- Hours: 6.5 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Contract Length: 183 days per year (170 student instructional days, 4 holidays, 7 planning days, 2 extended days)
- Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date
- Employment Status: Full-time with benefits
- Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified salary schedule
- Education: Must meet one of the following: 48 college semester hours, an Associate’s Degree, or a high school diploma plus a passing score on the Para educator Assessment Exam
- Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Pay
Schedule:
Step 0: $16.46 per hour;
Step 10: $20.26 per hour
Previous experience working with students is strongly desired.
Experience Credit- New employees may transfer up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience
- It is the employee's responsibility to submit the BCPS Verification of Experience form to previous employers
While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
